Partnership with the Chalmers Foundation and Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation
NBTA Credit Union is proud to partner with the Chalmers Foundation and the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation. The Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation is a recognized North American leader in neurological rehabilitation. The centre provides bilingual care through inpatient, outpatient and outreach services. Clients of all ages from New Brunswick and PEI and complex paediatric clients from Nova Scotia benefit from the centre’s services. The Stan Cassidy Centre provides treatment for complex autism spectrum disorder, spinal cord injury, complex stroke, acquired brain injury, and various neurological diseases such as muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and spina bifida.
You would be hard-pressed to find someone in New Brunswick who hasn’t had a friend or family member that has been helped by the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation. For this reason, NBTA Credit Union has made Stan Cassidy our main corporate charity to support for over 10 years. We support the Centre through fundraising, corporate donations, sponsorships, and raising awareness. Together with our partner Concentra Financial, we provided a cheque for $10,000 in 2012 to benefit the Stan Cassidy Centre with customized wheelchair seat-cushions for patients. We have also partnered with local schools to form an initiative called “Cassidy’s Kids” that gives teachers a program to engage their students in unique fundraising initiatives for Stan Cassidy. The results of this initiative have been phenomenal and have made a real difference at the Centre.
As of 2020, the Stan Cassidy Foundation merged with the Chalmers Foundation. NBTA Credit Union’s donations, as well as those of our members who choose to donate, will be directed to the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation.
